The Gettysburg National Cemetery is famous for being the site of Abraham Lincoln’s most famous speech, the Gettysburg Address. Other sites of interest include the Eisenhower Farm, Dobbin House Tavern, the Gettysburg Hotel, and the Jennie Wade House. Other museums also exist in this town, most of them related to the Civil War. These places have restored faithfully both the history and the ambiance of the Civil War era, evoking the historic aura of this town even more. In addition, haunted houses are said to be present, and these places have garnered their own share of interest.
Tourist volume generally peak between June and October. And as a tourist spot, this town has a lot of unique things to offer. Tourists are into a treat for there are a lot of services such as tours that are available. These activities further help those in attendance in capturing the history as well as the events that took place in this town. During the week of Independence, a 3-day event takes place annually. It is the reenactment of the Battle of Gettysburg. Audio tape tours of the town are also available for those that want to do the traveling themselves.
